AZ Dental offers Lumineers® in San Jose, California, to help you improve the appearance of your teeth and achieve a cosmetically perfect smile.  This treatment is a great alternative for patients who want a more beautiful smile without enduring surgery, harsh chemicals, or painful, invasive treatments.  We welcome you to call us at 408-227-6000 to schedule your appointment with our dentists and learn more about Lumineers.

Lumineers are a type of ultra-thin dental veneer, uniquely designed to fit perfectly over your teeth and provide you with a picture-perfect smile.  Lumineers can correct a variety of problems, including:

  • Large gaps between your teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Stained teeth
  • Uneven gums and teeth
  • Unnatural-looking restorations, such as bridges and crowns

Cosmetic treatment completed using Lumineers offers many advantages over other treatment options.  One of the greatest advantages of Lumineers is that they do not require any painful alterations of your teeth in preparation for the treatment.  Lumineers are also constructed from Cerinate® porcelain, making them extremely strong and durable, and unlikely to break or chip.  This material also allows our dentists to achieve the exact shade and translucency you want for the color of your veneer.  Other advantages of Lumineers include:

  • No injections
  • No pain or discomfort
  • No harsh drilling or grinding of your tooth structure
  • Only two appointments are required
  • You can place multiple Lumineers at once
  • Perfect, pearly-white teeth
  • Veneers the thickness of a contact lens
  • A completely reversible treatment
  • Results that last more than 20 years

For Lumineers to be applied, the underlying teeth, bones and gums must be healthy.  If you have tooth decay or gum disease, you must receive treatment for that condition before you can receive Lumineers.  Lumineers can be easily fitted, as very little etching is required before your treatment.

During your initial visit, our dentists will take bite impressions and X-rays, and thoroughly examine your teeth to ensure that no decay or signs of gum disease are present.  We will work with you to choose the color and desired level of transparency for your Lumineers.  Your impressions will then be sent to a dental lab to be created.

Your Lumineers will be bonded to your teeth at the time of your second appointment.  Once they are in place, our dentists polish them until they are completely smooth, which gives you the added benefit of preventing bacteria and staining agents from adhering to your Lumineers.  We then separate the Lumineers.  Up to this point, your Lumineers were attached where the bit impressions suggest teeth would naturally join.  Your treatment is complete, leaving you with a beautiful smile and healthy teeth.
