Anyone would love a smile that is whiter, more perfectly shaped or with less spaces. But how can one achieve such a magnificent smile? Our dentists are pleased to provide veneers to help you reach your aesthetic goals for your smile. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are placed over the front of natural teeth to improve their appearance.
Before you have veneers placed, there are some things you should know.
You Don’t Have to Put Veneers on All of Your Teeth
If you choose veneers for your smile, you don’t have to have them placed on all of your teeth. You can have one tooth, a few teeth, or all of your visible teeth beautified with veneers. It all depends on your smile goals.
“Prep” Doesn’t Mean That the Tooth Is Going to Be Shaved Down Severely
In most cases, the amount of tooth enamel removed to prep for a veneer is thinner than a fingernail. If your teeth are crooked or grayish in appearance, more prepping may be needed. However, for teeth that have gaps or are short, there won’t be as much needed prep.
Veneers Last for About 15 to 20 Years
After about 15 to 20 years, veneers will need to be replaced with new ones. Keep in mind that they will need to be replaced sooner if you don’t do your part. Brush your teeth twice a day, floss once a day, and schedule and keep your regular dental appointments.
